Italian - Arabic Dictionary
/il/
Il is the masculine singular definite article in Italian, equivalent to 'the' in English. In Arabic, it corresponds to ال (al-).
| # | Type | Italian | Arabic |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | article | il article | ال |
Il gatto dorme sul divano.
القط ينام على الأريكة.
Mi piace il caffè al mattino.
أحب القهوة في الصباح.
Il libro è sulla tavola.
الكتاب على الطاولة.
Il is used before masculine singular nouns beginning with most consonants (il libro, il gatto). Before vowels or s+consonant, use lo instead (lo studente, lo specchio). Remember that the Arabic article ال attaches directly to the noun, unlike the separate Italian article.
